Manèkin
The art of elevated fashion for the modern woman.
Manèkin is a luxury atelier built for women who command rooms — structured garments that carry the quiet authority of ancestral Indian textiles, reborn in silhouettes for today.
Craft
Hand-selected brocades, satins, and pure silk adorned with golden zari — each piece built to last a lifetime.
Heritage
Ancestral Indian textiles reinterpreted through a contemporary Western lens, honouring centuries of craftsmanship.
Purpose
Designed for women who lead — garments that carry the quiet authority of someone who has nothing to prove.
Our Story
Manèkin was born from a simple frustration: the wardrobe of the modern Indian professional woman had not kept pace with her ambitions. Boardrooms, investor meetings, industry summits — these stages demanded garments that carried both authority and identity. Western power dressing felt borrowed. Traditional Indian wear felt out of context. There was a gap, and Manèkin was built to close it.
We work exclusively with silk — the most democratic of luxury fabrics, used for millennia across every great civilization. Our artisans source Kanjivaram brocades, Mysore silk weaves, and crepe silks with golden zari borders, then tailor them into structured blazers, wide-leg trousers, and fluid shirts that feel entirely at home in a contemporary professional setting. Every garment is cut in small batches. When a style sells out at Manèkin, it retires permanently — we do not restock. This is not scarcity marketing; it is a commitment to the craftspeople who made it and to the woman who wears it, ensuring that her garment remains singular.
The name Manèkin nods to the tailor's dummy — the foundational tool of couture — but reimagined for a woman who shapes her own silhouette, not the other way around. Our fit philosophy starts from the shoulders down, designed for women who stand at the head of a table and need fabric that keeps up.
Manèkin is based in Bengaluru and ships across India. Our collections are priced between ₹10,000 and ₹50,000 — deliberately accessible for what is genuinely hand-finished, small-batch silk clothing, but never discounted. We believe the woman who chooses Manèkin values permanence over promotions.
The Fabrics We Use
Mysore Silk
Woven in Karnataka, Mysore silk is renowned for its exceptional softness, natural sheen, and lightweight drape. Pure mulberry silk sourced from the silk capital of India, it gives Manèkin garments a luminous finish that catches every light in the room.
Kanjivaram Silk
From the looms of Tamil Nadu, Kanjivaram is among the heaviest and most durable silks in the world. Its distinctive contrast borders and lustrous body make it ideal for Manèkin blazers that need to hold their shape through a long business day.
Crepe Silk
A lighter, pebbled-texture silk that drapes beautifully and resists creasing on long travel days. Our crepe silk shirts and trousers are the workhorses of the Manèkin wardrobe — effortless, polished, and endlessly versatile.
Satin Weave Silk
With its mirror-like sheen and smooth hand, satin-weave silk is reserved for our most statement-making pieces. A Manèkin satin blazer needs no jewellery — the fabric does the work.
Who We Dress
The Manèkin woman is a founder, an executive, a professional who has spent years building something real. She dresses for herself first — for the confidence that comes from wearing something made with intention — and for the impression it creates second. She is not chasing trends. She is building a wardrobe that works as hard as she does.
She travels frequently, speaks on stages, closes deals in rooms where her appearance is the first signal anyone reads. She wants garments that say she belongs there — not because she is performing a role, but because she has earned the seat. That is precisely the space Manèkin was built to occupy.
If you are that woman, or if you are dressing someone who is, you are in the right place. Browse the Manèkin collection, and if you have questions about fit, materials, or styling, our team is available on WhatsApp and email — because exceptional service is as much a part of what we make as the garment itself.
